Katie's
Story
Katie (whose name has been changed in this
story to protect her privacy) and her two young
children snuck out in the middle of the night
and hopped a Greyhound bus to flee from their
abuser. She stayed with family until
she found a job and a place to call her own.
Her employer calls Katie a “role model
and an “exemplary employee.”
After receiving her car, Katie has been able
to continue her full time job while starting
pursuit of her lifelong dream of becoming a
chef. In
January, she enrolled in culinary school—something
her former abuser would not allow her to do—and
is looking forward to a bright future for herself
and her children. Reliable transportation
has been pivotal to the fulfillment of this
single mom's career dream, as well as allowing
her family to visit with their grandparents
and other relatives throughout Florida. |
Wheels

providing a full range of transportation solutions, including
vehicle replacement; car repair; and licensing, car payment and
down payment assistance to low and moderate income working families.
